Campus Television – The campus and student empowered television station in Ghana, and organizers of the annual Campus Music Awards (CMA), has released a press statement to announce the opening of nominations for the 2020 edition of the Campus Music Awards.


In the press statement signed by Sam Terrific Fields, the organizers urge on all interested persons to pick up nomination forms from the offices of Campus Television, partner campus radio and TV stations or fill the forms online at www.campustv.net.

Greetings from Campus Television, organizers of the Campus Music Awards Festival. We trust that everyone is in good health even amidst this period of the pandemic and that everyone is practising the necessary safety measures put in place in order to prevent contraction of the COVID-19.

On behalf of the board, sponsors and other partners, we are favored to inform all campus musicians that span from high school to tertiary level, music industry practitioners and members of the general public that nominations for the special edition of the Campus Music Awards are officially open.

The Campus Music Awards, which started in 2017 as a television show awards for campus artistes based on a competition level, has, since its inception, grown to become one of the biggest campus events in Ghana. The music award is created to recognize and celebrate the hard work and enthusiasm of the various artistes on campus, who are not easily recognized by the main stream awards in Ghana’s music industry.

Interested stakeholders are, by this release, encouraged to pick up nomination forms from the offices of Campus Television, partner radio and TV stations or fill the online version of the forms at www.campustv.net.

A state-of-the-art multipurpose auditorium has been commissioned at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).


The 3550-capacity edifice was constructed at the cost of GH₵ 77million through an internally generated fund and adds to the infrastructural aesthetics of the university which has been touted as the fastest developing university in Africa.

The Minister of State in-charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah who commissioned the facility on behalf of the President of Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, 8thMay, said he was proud of the achievements of UPSA over this few years of being upgraded into a full-fledged university.

Prof. Yankah also lauded the institution for being ranked among top universities in the world at the maiden Global University Impact Rankings (2019), saying “you have made Ghana proud!”

The minister, therefore, called on other public universities to emulate same.


The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, in his address, commended the students for their immense contributions towards the realization of the project which began in June 2016.


He said the university built the edifice without any financial support or assistance from government- a clear demonstration of UPSA beyond aid.

“We are proud to state that in the spirit of Ghana beyond aid, we have been able to put up this facility exclusively from our internally generated fund, and much credit needs to be given to our wonderful students for paying their fees in time. This is what we call UPSA beyond aid.”


Prof Amartey reiterated the university’s commitment to contributing to human resource development, job creation and reduction of unemployment in the country. He said accreditation has been granted by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) to mount an MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme during the next academic year.


The VC further announced the introduction of new programmes which he said were awaiting accreditation to be mounted the same year. They include Master of Arts in Peace, Security and Intelligence, Master of Arts in Brands and Communications Management, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Corporate Communications and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management.

The Chairman of the University Governing Council, Dr Kofi Ohene-Konadu, described the new auditorium as a ‘invaluable national asset’ which has no doubt deepened the University’s status as a world-class one.”


The auditorium has four ancillary Conference Rooms with a seating capacity of 200 each with adjourning lounges and cozy servery.  It also comes with a fully-equipped media centre, a two-storey underground car park, offices for training programmes, lobbies for exhibitions as well as other support facilities like storage, basement, washrooms, entrance foyer and multipurpose spaces.


In attendance were the Member of Parliament for Madina, Alhaji Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface; former Vice-Chancellor, Prof Joshua Alabi; Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof Charles Barnor and senior members of the University management.


Others also included Bishop James Saah of the Christian Action Faith Ministries and Prophet Christopher Yaw Annor of the Holy Ghost Temple of the International Central Gospel Church.

Ghana’s very well-known soccer young maestro, Kingsley Fobi for those who do not know joined one of the world’s athletic and casual footwear brand in 2016 and still sailing tremendously as an ambassador for “PUMA”, The German multinational company designs and produces athletic and casual gears, which is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria in Germany.

Kingsley Fobi for the records graduated from “Right to Dream Academy” as a professional footballer, presently stuns as a player of Watford Football Club in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and on loan to UD Ibiza in Spain.

As a Ghanaian born in antique town of Cape Coast in the central region of Ghana, Kingsley in 2016 departed the Academy to join Italian side Udinese and appropriately moved to Granada on Loan, then managed by England’s former captain, Tony Adams after a brief invocation in the under-19s.

Prior to his switch to Italy, Kingsley Fobi fully represented the republic of Ghana at the FIFA under-20 World Cup in the year 2015, performing very well and playing in every game for the Black Starlets which includes a 3-2 conquest against Argentina.

Kingsley then signed for English Premier League team Watford FC in 2017 and has since been celebrated as one of Africa’s youngest game changers in football abroad. His deal with PUMA commenced in the year 2016 before joining Watford and he still sways as an Ambassador the PUMA – The world’s 3rd largest sportswear manufacturer, founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler.

Actress Soraya Mensah on Sunday held the ‘Zesuza Street Feast’, a charity event to feed over 500 underprivileged children in the streets of Accra.

The ceremony which was part of her efforts to give back to society was held at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra from 12 noon to 4:00 pm on Sunday.

It attracted a large number of children who were treated to eat a variety of foods and enjoyed other side attractions such as bouncy castle, dance performances, face painting, and many other activities.

Present were also some showbiz personalities including Nadia Buari and Klint Da Drunk among others who engaged with the children in various ways. Klint came all the way from Nigeria to be part of the charity event. He displayed some amazing dance steps to entertain the kids at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony Soraya Mensah indicated that she was motivated to put smiles on the faces of the kids because she loves them.

“My reason for doing this is just because I love kids and also because I am into foods and I said why not, let me just share with these children because God has been a blessing to me from the beginning of this year,” she stated.

She was also appreciative of all who supported her to make event successful.

Soraya is one of Ghana’s beautiful actresses who broke onto the scene in the early 2000s. However, she has been off the screens after she got married in 2016. She is currently managing her own business as the CEO of Zesuza Catering Services & Exceed Business Consult. She has now launched a charity wing with the organisation of Zesuza Street Feast.
